A year ago today I was doing my first reporter piece for WCAX about preparations for Tropical Storm Irene — with no idea of how much that storm would impact Vermont and shape our news coverage for the next year.

Today, I livesided a piece I did on a digital archive from the Vermont Folklife Center aimed at preserving memories from the storm:

This was part of our station’s series coverage, called “Irene: One Year Later” that aired originally on August 26, 2012. I livesided it here the next morning on my show. It was crazy going back through the town and seeing what had — and hadn’t — been repaired in the year since the storm hit.

To submit memories, go to this website and follow the instructions: http://www.vermontfolklifecenter.org/irene/.

It was also Steve’s first day anchoring on the morning show — and our first show with a dual-anchor format! So a big day as a producer for me as well.
